About Organization :
AMAN is Working in 30-villages of Chaukhutiya and 10-villages of Hawalbag block of Almora District and 10 villages of Chamoli district with a team of young local community workers and committed individuals who understand and address the concerns of the children, women and youth on various issues such as ecological rights, agriculture sustainability & livelihood security, disaster management, environment & climate change, child rights and education. AMAN has 20 years experiences of working in educational, ecological and economic development of rural communities of Uttarakhand. Working towards strengthening the social work at the grass roots since November 15, 1999believes that development work to be done with people-centered process and perspective building in the community both conception and the execution level. AMAN long-standing relationship with wide range of groups, individuals and well-wishers across the State as well as National level began the process of developmental work base on participatory approach.

Objectives
- To sensitize the community towards child rights and enabling them to take responsibility for the situation of the deprived children and motivate them through collective action.
- To consciousness of community on common schooling system and right to education.
- To strengthen the livelihood option and the democratic decision making process in the community.
- To increase access and control of common people over natural resources through public education, lobbing and advocacy.
- To awareness building on socio-political and economic factors responsible for gender inequality and paving way for their increased participation and collective empowerment.
- To motivate, orient and support youth from rural and marginalized communities to join the efforts of social development and transformation.
- To assist, facilitate and be part of the campaigns with likeminded groups to achieve the goal of an egalitarian society.
- To strengthen, encourage and popularize the concept and philosophy of people cantered sustainable development and popular democracy in our society.
- To promote research, training and education for peoples participation in various development processes
- To work for empowerment and upliftment of the marginalized and oppressed sections of the society such a dalits, women and children.
- To promote and safeguarding the cultural heritage of the society, public awareness regarding nationally acclaimed through various innovative methods. To organize and conduct seminars, workshops, conference, training programs, exchange visit, study tour etc. for accomplishment for the above.

- State-level summit of CACL’s state-level members in Haridwar in 2023.
- District-level meeting in Almora on CLPRA 2016 and Alternative Bill on Abolition of Child Labour with the labour department and Hotel Association Almora in 12 June 2023.
- Campaign to activate District Task Forces.
- Campaign to stop child labour during Char Dham Yatra season.
- Observation of 44 days’ Shram Nahin Shiksha Campaign every year on different topics.
- Observation of National and International Child Labour Abolish Day every year.
- Meeting and consultations with youth and children.
- Drafting and submitting memorandums against child labour during festivals and other days in 2024 and submitting them to the DMs.
- Submission of demand charter to the MP candidates and party officials during the election campaign in Uttarakhand in 2024.
- State-level webinar for child labour-free Uttarakhand with the CWC, JJB members, WCD, and labour department.
- Electing four new youth members in CACL’s state bodies.
- District meetings to build awareness in Dehradun, Chamoli, Almora, Uttarkashi, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital, and Pauri Garhwal.
