Disha Vihar

Disha Vihar was registered in 2003 to work towards the backward, excluded and dalit communities and to bring them in the mainstream development through socio-economic processes and to build a just society.

Miss Punam Kumari (President) has been associated with literacy campaign and different Movements on the women Rights, women empowerment and advocacy and networking at different levels for effective implementation of Govt. Schemes.

Mr Abhay Kumar Akela (Secretary) has been associated with Ganga Mukti Andolan and in different movements on the Rights and Entitlements for the people who are poor, excluded and marginalized.From the beginning the organization focused on child rights and child related issues, sustainable livelihood, domestic violence against women, women rights, women empowerment and advocacy and networking at different levels for effective implementation of govt. schemes.  

Disha Vihar In collaboration with TDH and GIZ, work is going on in 30 villages in Chakai block of Disha Vihar Organization Jamui district with children associated with mica and their families, in which a group of children, a group of young children has been formed, it is the responsibility of the community that each In the monthly meeting, the women of the group discuss issues like their health and the health of their children, as a result of which 35 to 40 children daily come to our Bridge Course Center and do study work, in this order the youth group There is a meeting together in which our young comrades discuss the issues of the village and work on it after finding a solution to the problems, in the forte days the era of Covid-19  epidemic was going on, not knowing how many lost themselves in this difficult time of the village. Young fellow Prem Chand Murmu and the teachers of our Bridge Course Center went from village to village to make them aware about the distribution of masks and prevention of epidemics.

Major activities under the project: Pilot Project To End The Worst Forms of Child Labour in Mica Mining in Bihar & Jharkhand- Supported by GIZ, Terre Des Hommes-Germany, India Program

 

  • In the initial phase, a total of 15 villages were identified by TDH and GIZ, in which in the initial phase only 7 villages are being operated bridge course center, under which the children of the remaining 8 villages are also associated with this project and bridge course. also come to study at the center
  • In the same sequence, in the youth group meetings, the youth of our 15 villages are also associated with this project, whose regular meeting is held in a month, in this meeting the youth companions of 15 villages are present and the women of the women’s group of the same 15 villages. We are also associated with this project which is actively working in every village.
