About CJWS

Chaitanya Jyothi Welfare Society (CJWS) is a voluntary organization with a strong belief in community involvement. The organization has developed a good rapport and enjoys the trust of the district administration and other Government authorities. CJWS has organized the traditional handicraft workers from the rural part of Nellore district. CJWS is also involved in disaster preparedness and relief.

Objectives of the CJWS;

  • To provide Psychosocial support , treatment of opportunistic infections / Covid Care & Support to orphan children
  • To abolish the Child Labour totally in the society and to sensitize the communities for protection & promotion of Child Rights.
  • To provide Life skills / alternative Education for livelihoods to Adolescent Children

  • To empower the communities to address the Natural / Man Made Disasters through Community based approach; Disaster Management.
  • To protect and promote the Eco- Development & Watershed Management / promotion Sustainable Agriculture by Farmer Promotion Groups (FPO).
  • To promote the Handicraft Artisans
  • To build the capacities for SHGs / service providers on various socio –economic issues.

  • Child representatives raised their issues on eradication of child labour and Common Education School System (CESS) in front of honorable Vice President of India Sri M Venkaiah Naidu.

 

Major Activities conducted in the last three years

  • 1116 Child Labour Rescued from various works and filed FIR under JJ Act where as Dept of Labour also booked compensation cases against management under  U/s 3&4 of CLPRA Act
  • 105 Child Marriages are stopped in the Covid period
  • Nearly 200 Covid affected orphan children identified and rehabilitated by Govt. Schemes
