About Organization

Jan Sewa Parishad Hazaribag (JSPH) was founded in 1990 in Jharkhand in India. The organization works to promote awareness and empowerment among women and children in impoverished communities, striving to enhance people’s economic status through local resources and their own skills. As part of this work, JSPH has been working to end child marriage and promote child health since 2014.

Objective

  • To promote Child rights and awareness against Child Labour.
  • To educate, organize and promote the new tools and technologies to the farmers of the project area to ensure food security & ecological balance through watershed management.

Popular Programs

  • Childline 1098 supported by Ministry of Women and Child Development in Barkagaon block of Hazaribag District in Jharkhand State.
  • Integrated Watershed Management Programs in Koderma &Jainagar block of Koderma district and Tandwa block of Chatra district in Jharkhand State. This programs is being run in association with Rural Development Department.
  • Jharkhand Tribal Empowerment and Livelihood Promotion (JTELP) supported by Jharkhand Tribal Development Society (JTDS) in West Singhbhum and Sarai kela Kharsawan district in Jharkhand State.

 

Major Activities conducted in the last three

Since the inception, the organization is committed to work in the welfare of children regarding education, health and child labour. The Childline 1098 programme is being run by Jan Sewa Parishad (JSP) in Barkagaon block of Hazaribag district. This programme is based on Child Rights and their protection, in which child labour is one of the most major issue. Many numbers of children has been rescued by the organization where the children were aggrieved by child labour. JSP has executed for and against child labour issue through the identification of child labour children including filing case and presentation at CWC (Child Welfare Committee). After which the children lives as per their requirements with education and sports.

JSP conducts regular meetings and awareness programmes and execute for the advocacy of Child labour children. The activities are being conduct by the organization are such as Outreach and Open House Programmes, Play Programmes, Special Programmes regarding Awareness against Child Labour, Chowkidar Meetings, Meetings with Anganwadi Sevikas and Conductes regular meetings with Self Help Groups (SHGs), Students, Village Animators etc. In last year 2020, 14 numbers of Child labour was rescued by the organization and the children were presented in the front of Chile Welfare Committee.

The methodology for awareness against child labour usually adopted for intervention by the organization are such as Pumplet Distribution, Banner Presentation, Awareness through Van by village to village, Printing in News Paper, Awareness through showing in New Channel, Video Show, Outreach, Meetings, Quiz competition etc.
