About Organization :

Holistic approach for People’s Empowerment (HOPE) was established on 12th September 1996 to involve in intensive grassroots interventions and extensive campaign for protection and promotion of child rights, women empowerment and to ensure good governance. HOPE is a participatory, rights-based organization believing in a non-institutional approach. Their activities are limited to Puducherry Union Territory and the nearby Districts of Tamil Nadu.

Hope work with Children, Women, Dalits, Fisherfolks, Government School Teachers and elected Panchayat Representatives.

Their major programme was creating awareness about the social legislations like Child Labour(Prohibition and Regulation) Act, Rights of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, Right to Information Act, Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, etc.
