“SAHARA would continue to focus primarily on relief and rehabilitation programme during its inception of project period 1992. While working at the community level, SAHARA has learnt that children, their parents, families and the community as a whole are trapped into a vicious circle of multiple problems which has led to gross violation of human rights. There is a need every individual can enjoy their right to a life of dignity. Hence, SAHARA has prioritized to focus on the issues relating to deepening democracy, women empowerment, health, environment, livelihood, governance, gender justice, active ageing, emergency management and disaster mitigation during these years.
We are the Secular Non-profit, Non-Political Voluntary organization working with the downtrodden peoples of 12 blocks of Kandhamal Districts of Odisha State. (Blocks are Raikia, G.udayagiri, Daringbadi, Balliguda, K.Nuagaon, Tumudibandha, Kotagharh, Tikabali, Chakapad. Khajuripada, Phiringia, Phulbani).

Empowering the poor and marginalized especially the dalit, tribal, and women through right based approach in the field of livelihood, local self-governance. Facilitating the weaker section through education, leadership development, ensure equality and equal rights for all. increasing income generation skill, awareness of rights, enhancing health service to the needy, and empower them socio economically for their safe and secured community life. 1. Objectives:
Transformation: Individuals and communities can be transformed when they realize their inner potentialities, freedom and human values and address them to bring about spiritual, social, economic and physical changes.
Sustainability : Creating locally sustainable programs is crucial to achieving a lasting impact.

Area of operation: The operational area we have taken 10 villages from Raikia Block of Kandhamal District of Odisha State.
