Objective

JVALA is the crystallization of experience and commitment to the cause of deprived people and environment. The objective of JVALA is to facilitate collective actions of the indigenous, marginalized and unorganised people to ensure their Rights and to provide opportunities for children to realize their full potential.

Major Activities conducted in the last three years

Over the past three years, JVALA has been able to bring about a number of activities to eliminate Child Labor. Legal Awareness Camps, Rescue, and Legal Consultations are just some of the activities.

Legal awareness camps:

17 camps were organized in collaboration with the DLSA, BBA and Department of Labor in different Grama Panchayats on different dates to educate community leaders to raise awareness on child labor. A total of 515 selected community leaders including 226  male and 289 female participated.

Through these programs, JVALA was able to sow the seeds to equip community to fight for the protection of child rights and to eradicate child labor.  “How to make our society as child friendly? Must reach out the information to the authorities when children are being exploited, and our homes and schools must be taken care from the drug mafia and other anti social elements that may lead to child labor”  These are the words of  district labor officer who was the chief gust of the programs.

District Level Legal Consultations:

The objective of these programs is to create a society which is educated on the issues of Child labor and Human trafficking. Organized one District Level Legal Consultation for elected PRI members on 24-10-2019 in collaboration with IJM, DLSA, FSD and Childline .25 men and 29 women participated.

Virtual meetings: Organized 7 online consolations on child labor and human trafficking in the year 2020 -2021 collaborating with CACL, Childline and Department of Labor. More than 600 persons attended in these consultations.

JVALA and associates attended 6 online consultations organized by NACDIP and FSD on BL and HT.
